Questions
We believe the best way to evaluate a software like ours is to actually use it on real work for a few days, not have it presented to you by a sales rep. Demos serve the vendor (qualifying leads and following up); trials serve you (finding out if it changes your workday). With Lexroom you talk before you touch; with us you touch before deciding whether it's worth talking. The difference isn't a free button: it's that we're confident enough in our product to put it in your hands and leave you in full control of the evaluation process.
We think a daily-use tool needs to be predictable. With a published budget you know what you can ask the AI in a month: 30,000 credits are roughly thousands of conversations, or hundreds of in-depth document analyses, or dozens of agents left to work for hours. Lexroom's choice is not to publish the budget: the cap still exists (AI providers bill by token, no one can offer truly unlimited usage), but you only discover it when you hit it. Disclosing credits is a matter of transparency about the fact that every AI platform has a usage limit. We tell you where ours is, to help you plan. We picked a high limit so the vast majority of users never have to worry about it.
edit.legal bundles all 20 areas under a single license from the base plan, at €79/month, essentially the same price (€75/month) as a single Lexroom module. The law is not single-area. The difference isn't "more areas for more money": it's all areas for the price of one. For any firm (single-area, multi-area or evolving) the math works in our favor.
Lexroom is a chat with citations: ask, get answer with sources, copy into Word, reformat, file. edit.legal brings the AI inside the document itself: a native legal editor inside the platform if you want a unified environment, or, if you'd rather stay in Microsoft Word, we built an add-in that brings everything from edit.legal inside Word: sources, inline AI suggestions, citations dropped into the text, templates, agents. Either way the AI is in the document, not in a separate chat. If Word is 90% of your day, not having to leave it to use AI makes a real difference.
Honest answer: maybe you shouldn't. Our software does things Lexroom doesn't, all areas included, integrated editor, multi-step agents, disclosed credits, no demo wall, but if Lexroom covers what you do and you're satisfied, keep that. That said, if even one of those points piques your curiosity, you have 7 days free to decide whether edit.legal is more solid. No data migration to handle: import the documents you want and run in parallel. You decide on a real case, not after a demo.
